Sunday, January 6th, 2008

Your local chiropractors are wishing you the best of health and happiness in 2008!

Dr. Brandon Takahashi (11340 W. Olympic Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90064) reminds everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep up with your commitment for regular chiropractic care. Takahashi’s West Los Angeles chiropractic office is located at the corner of Corinth Avenue and West Olympic Blvd.

Dr. Luke Cohen (16624 Marquez Ave. in the Palisades) reminds everyone that this is the time of year we work on setting goals and moving forward towards achieving them. There’s nothing better than being in great health. Cohens chiropractic office is located just off of Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades.

Dr. Michael Dorausch (12740 Culver Blvd.) loves this time of year as people are eager to get back to a regimented lifestyle, which includes a commitment to exercise, eating well and maintaining a spine that is subluxation free. Dorauschs’ LA office is just off the 90 freeway and is minutes away from the developing Playa Vista community.

Dr. Ken Gee Ehrlich (no longer at 11340 W Olympic Blvd - new address is 11945 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Los Angeles, CA 90025) wishes everyone their healthiest year ever. He reminds us that chiropractic care is not just for auto accidents and neck and back pain as many people and families receive chiropractic care on a wellness basis. Take good care of your family 2008 and make sure they’re receiving regular chiropractic care. Ehrlichs West LA chiropractic office is nearby Brentwood and Westwood and they’re happy to see patients bring their friends and family.

Area code 424 on the Westside

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

If you have a new business on the Los Angeles Westside, chances are you are going to be assigned the new 424 area code, which is the new code overlay for the westside of Los Angeles.

Area code 424 is the first non-mobile area code overlay in the Southern California area. As a result, if you are in the 310 area code and want to call someone on your same overlay, you’ll have to dial 310 before making your normal 7-digit call. Basically, as a result of the overlay, people with a 310 or 424 area code must dial 1 + area code + seven-digit number when making calls.

The new code was adopted to accommodate the growing need for telephone numbers in the west Los Angeles area. It is the first code overlay for the state of California. Four-two-four (424) is intended to serve customers in the same geographic region as the current 310 area code, which includes Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, the Westside and South Bay area of Los Angeles County, and even a small portion of Ventura County.

The 424 area code overlay became effective in August of 2006 and we will continue to see more 424 area code listings appear as the months go on. I guess all those folks moving into Playa Vista over the next few years are going to end up with 424 area codes.

Let’s see how long it is before we hear people saying “oh, you are so 310″ meaning, you are “old news.”
