Ocean Park Volleyball Continues Despite Cold

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Even though it’s been really cold here in Santa Monica, diehard athletes are still out on the sand playing volleyball. Those of you on the East coast that may be seeing this are probably laughing since I consider 50’s to 60’s cold!
There are a number of beach volleyball courts at the end of Ocean Park Blvd in Santa Monica. There are two lots you can park in along the beach which are actually great locations to park whether you going to be running, bike riding through Venice, surfing, visiting the pier, playing volleyball, or just hanging out on the beach. One of the lots is for short-term parking (I believe it is three hours or less) and the other is for all-day parking (no overnight parking).

Santa Monica Volleyball

I have been providing chiropractic care to many of the folks playing volleyball in the Ocean Park beach area for several years. While my office (ADIO Chiropractic) has been sponsoring spring, summer, and fall OPV event’s for a few years, I’m rarely out at the courts in the wintertime. You can find me down along the water doing a pier-to-pier run but I won’t be back by the courts until the spring of 2007.

The players however, (at least the hard-core ones) are still at it daily. They are coming to the office for their regular tuneups and I noticed lots of them are still maintaining their tans even though were going into January real soon.

I’ve got a ton of photos from 2004, 2005, and 2006 tournaments down at the beach and I’ll probably post some of those photos here, or to my flicker account. Check out the Ocean Park Volleyball website at: www.oceanparkvolleyball.com
Don’t forget, work hard - play hard - get adjusted!
